Early last year I embarked on an adventure over at the Post-Punk Kitchen forums - to help Isa & Terry test out cupcake recipes before they made it into a soon-to-be-published cookbook. Along with a bunch of other dedicated testers, I toiled away at various cupcake recipes, tweaking ingredients & settings, collecting comments from willing taste-testers (many of them at work!), taking photos and reporting back to the authors with my findings.

It was such a fun 'project' and a great way to show people that vegan baking tastes just as phenomenal as baking that's laden with butter and eggs. Cupcakes are hands down the best dessert to bake, because the pans require hardly any cleanup, there are very few steps, plus, the desserts are portable and VERY cute. And fun to decorate! Who can resist a cupcake? No one, that's who.

The result of the recipe testing is Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World. I picked up a cheap copy at Chapters the other day and squealed with delight when I turned to the acknowledgments page to see my name in print. Thanks to Amazon.com's 'search inside this book' function, I was able to search my own name and jump straight to the very page, which you can see at left - neat!

Now the only task left is to try and narrow down which cupcake I will bake first!
